  • Online classes or extended learning — Online classes are an option for students who are self-starters, well organized and comfortable using e-mail and computers at the level necessary to learn online. In addition, students must be able to devote between 4 to 6 hours a week per class to learning and completing homework assignments. Go to www.umt.edu to find out about online options at The University of Montana. Also, students can gauge their aptitude for online learning by going to eu.montana.edu/Distance/quiz to take the Montana State Extended University interactive quiz.
  • Evening and weekend classes — Sometimes schools offer evening and weekend classes to accommodate the needs of students who can’t attend during the day due to conflicts with work or for other reasons. Check with the school of your choice to determine whether its evening or weekend classes click mesh with your schedule. By combining evening or weekend classes with online classes, many students can obtain their degree.
  • Community colleges — Community colleges offer a variety of degrees after the completion of two years of full-time study.
