Career Exploration
One of the best ways to figure out what you want to be when you grow up is to check out the jobs in which you are interested firsthand. Job shadowing- or going to work with someone for a day or two- is a great way to do that.
- Ask your family if they know anyone working in the career field you want to learn about.
- Guidance counselors and teachers can also help connect you with adults doing the job in which you are interested.
- If all else fails, call - or have an adult call - a business in your community that employs people in the career field of your choice. Often, they can organize a visit to their office.
