Put Your Hand on Some Cash

Money is available to help you pay for college. But it's going to take some effort on your part to tap into it. Some steps to follow include:

  • Use the Montana Career Information System (MCIS) to learn about various schools, the cost of attendance and more. In addition, search a wide range of scholarships. To log on to MCIS, click here.
  • Talk to your parents about starting a savings plan (if they haven't already). Educational IRAs (Section 529 Savings Plans) are college savings plans, the earnings of which are free of federal income tax if the money is used to pay qualified college expenses.
